D. Michael McMullan, M.D., is a board certified surgeon, director of Cardiac Transplantation and Extracorporeal Life Support Services and director of the Extracorporeal Life Support Fellowship Program at Seattle Children's Hospital and an UW associate professor of Surgery.

Dr. McMullan strives to create active partnerships with his patients and their families to achieve the best possible outcomes.

Dr. McMullan earned his M.D. from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas. He is triple board certied in Congentical Cardiac Surgery, Thoracic Surgery, and General Surgery. His clinical interests include pediatric cardiac surgery, neonatal cardiac surgery, mechanical cardiac support and heart transplantation. His research interests include pediatric cardiac surgery outcomes, mechanical cardiac support, extracorporeal life support, heart transplantation and surgical simulation.

Personal Interests

Dr. McMullan enjoys spending his free time sailing, snowboarding and playing the guitar.
